Model 200A was made in green

towards the end of the production of this model in 1983.

This lantern and case are both dated Dec. 1980

and are in Mark Peterson's collection.

Two Canadian Model 222 backpacking lanterns.

The Easi-Lite on the left is dated Feb. '81

and the Peak One on the right is dated Feb. '95.

These 125 cp lanterns are in Matt Reid's collection

Canadian Coleman Model 639, kerosene fueled and rated at 500 cp,

was made for the Canadian Pacific Railway (left) and the public (center & right).

The lantern on the left, in George Rocen's collection, is
dated Feb. '82 and has never been used.
The nickel plated fount version (center), dated Feb. '71, is in Monte Dodge's collection.

The more common green painted fount version (right), dated Jan. 76, is in Matthew Reid's collection.

Model 639 replaced the earlier Model 237.

Canadian Coleman Model 625 is a single mantle

500 cp lantern.

This lantern, in Matt Reid's collection,

includes a mantle that is correct to the period of manufacture,

which is Feb. '84.

Coleman single mantle CL1 (left) and double mantle CL2 (right)

were first manufactured in 1984.

These models were among the first with an adjustable light;

the tip cleaner works in the off position of the valve rotation.

The CL1 (later the 286) is dated Sept '84

while the CL2, in Doron Papo's collection is dated Mar '84.

This Model 290 Powerhouse lantern has a black fount and ventilator.

It is one of two in Allan Kuderca's collection, both of which are date stamped Aug 1986.

We do not know how long they were made in black;

later versions are dark green (or red - for Japan) as seen further down this page.

If you have a black 290, please contact me.

Model 286A (center), finished in red, is dated June '89

and is in Ron Lenfield's collection.

The 286A, dated May '98 (right), is in Matthew Reid's collection.

The Canadian Coleman model series 325 (left) and 325A (right)

were a successor to the 321 series.

These two models differ in fuel valve knobs and their internal assemblies

as well as color.

The 325 is dated Jan. 1987 and the 325A is dated Jan. 1988.

The two lanterns are in Matt Reid's collection.

Coleman Models 290A700 (left) and 295 (right) are dated Dec '88 and Jun '91 respectively.

These lanterns and the metal cases were specially made for the Dutch army and navy.

Model 290 has never been used.

These lanterns are in Herman Mulder's collection.

Compare the typical cylindrical globes on these lanterns

with the same models dated Jan '96 below.

Model 214 is a single mantled kerosene model.

This lantern, in Doron Papo's collection,

is dated March, 1993.

Coleman has made several models exclusively for the Japanese market

including this Model 635B743J.

The lantern produces 500 cp from a single burner

and is adjustable.

It is identified on the box as part of their Classic line.

The fount is dated Feb. '94.

Coleman Model 200B was manufactured
from 1995-97.

As the earlier 200A this model has a single mantle but has variable light control

and a heat shield as in other models from this period.
The one on the left, marked 200B795, was made in August '95

and is in Craig Seabrook's collection.
The one on the right is dated June '97.

Coleman made this Model 635B721 lantern, dated Jan '96,

exclusively for Leacock Coleman.

Also a 500cp lantern, it differs from the 635B743J above

in having a plastic pump mechanism

and a separate tip cleaner lever,

which must be in the up, not down, position to run.

Coleman's Powerhouse lanterns - Model 290 (left) and Dual Fuel 295 (right).

Both are dated Jan. 1996.

The boxes that both of these lanterns came in and the instructions

both show these lanterns with straight-sided globes.

While Model 295 can run on unleaded gasoline,

the generator will last longer if Coleman fuel/white gas is used.

Coleman began regular production of the NorthStar lantern

around the Oct. '95 date on this lantern.

This model won a design award in '97 and features

a tubular mantle that is fastened at the top and bottom of the globe cage,

electronic ignition, as well as variable light control.

This 550 cp rated lantern is in Matt Reid's collection.

Model 639B was made in Wichita, Kansas

in contrast to the earlier 639 Model

that was made in Canada (see above on this page).

This lantern is date stamped Jan. 1998

and is in Doron Papo's collection.

Model 282 is a 200cp lantern.

This lantern, in Doron Papo's collection,

is dated August 1998.

As with other Dual Fuel models,  it can run on unleaded gasoline,

but the generator will last longer if Coleman fuel/white gas is used.

The Millennium Limited Edition lantern, Model 290A-743J

was sold only in Japan.

This two burner model is stamped Feb. 2000 on the fount.

It came with the funnel and metal carrying case.

The globe has frosted images of the L316-1914,

LQ427-1926, 220D-1947, 635-1974, and 621D-1983.

Model 200B747 was a Limited Edition lantern

to members of the International Coleman Collector Club

on the 100th anniversary of the company.

100 YR COLEMAN is spelled in holes in the collar

and has a variety of Coleman logos on the globe.

This lantern is date stamped Aug. 2001.

Coleman in Wichita made this Model 290 lantern for the Canadian military,

Matthew Reid believes, as it came from a Canadian Air Force Base

and has the M prefix in the model number.

It appears to be the same as other model 290 lanterns (see above)

except for the plain Coleman parallelogram label on the fount.

It is date stamped Sept. 2003.

(new image)
Model 285A was manufactured by Coleman

to run on Coleman fuel, unleaded gasoline, or E-10 gasohol (10% ethanol).

The label to the right of the Coleman logos says Select E Fuel under an ear of corn.

Matthew Reid, whose collection this is in,

finds that only the generator has a 285A prefix in the parts list.

This lantern is dated April, 2006.

The Heritage Lantern, Model 3000000101,

included a limited release to International Coleman Collectors Club members

who attended the 2007 convention.

This lantern, No. 0212, is date stamped Oct. 2007

and is in Brien Page's collection.

The collar notes to use generator 288A5891.
